My Favorite Travel Destinations

While recently looking through some cheap long-haul flights. I was stuck with the dilemma of where to go next. So, I thought I would put it to paper (or my blog in this case) my top picks of an awesome destination. And maybe you could help me decide, and give some of your comments below.Oahu Hawaii favorite destination is Oahu, Hawaii. I’d have to guess that I’m not alone in this. Hawaii is one of the top tourist destinations in the world, and rightly so. Waikiki beach is one of the most beautiful beaches the island of Oahu has to offer. Five star hotels line the entire strip of beach, so its easy to get a room with beach front access. There are paddle board and surf rental places along the beach, so be sure to rent a board and learn how to surf if you stay on Waikiki beach. The waves are perfect for beginners the whole year round. I love laying out at the beach by day, and then exploring the city at night. There are countless surf shops, high end retail stores, and tantalizing restaurants in the city. In addition to shops, the street performers are really something else. Make sure you pay a visit to the mime tin man or stop and watch some of the talented street musicians and dancers. If you have a rental car, a trip up to the North Shore might be also be worthwhile. I know I loved stopping by the famous surf spot known as Pipeline and then getting shave ice on the way back.

New YorkNew York City is my second favorite destination. There is no shortage of things to do in the city that never sleeps. Shops, clubs, and restaurants stay open late into the night and the streets are full of people until three or four in the morning. During my visit, I spent every night in Times Square shopping and admiring the people dressed in eccentric costumes that are hoping for your money. In the morning I walked around looking for cute breakfast places to eat and landmarks to see. Of course, the Statue of Liberty was on my list of things to see. I definitely recommend you put it on your list as well. I also visited the library and admired the gorgeous architecture. Dinner in New York city can be as low budget as McDonald’s or as high budget as expensive seafood. I personally enjoyed both of these options, along with a wide range of other things. Aside from the food, I highly recommend going to the theater. I went to see the play “The Phantom of the Opera” and it was a night I will never forget. At the beginning of my trip, I consistently failed miserably at getting a taxi cab. On one occasion I had to walk quite some distance in the rain, but it was all worth it. I ended up ducking into a little shop and bought myself an umbrella along with some other touristy NYC paraphernalia. By the end of my trip I fell in love with NYC and I had mastered the art of successfully getting myself a taxi.

Southern CaliforniaMy last favorite destination is Southern California. I have been to Southern CA so many times that I’ve lost count. With that being said, I could easily write a novel on the topic, but I will try to keep it short. Firstly, if you’ve never been, you have to go to Disneyland. I don’t care how old you are; it’s a magical place. Make sure that you buy yourself cotton candy and stay until it gets dark in order to see a firework show. If you’re staying near LA, go check out Beverly Hills; the houses are gorgeous and you might even see a celebrity. You should also stop to eat a nice dinner. One of my favorite dinners was at a revolving restaurant on the top floor of the Westin hotel. If you’re longing for some time at the beach, there really is no shortage of coastline. I love all of the beaches in Southern California, so just go wherever you’re closest to! Universal Studios in Hollywood is also a fun stop that I should mention. There you can see the real mechanical shark used in the movie “Jaws” along with an assortment of other cool things. As far as fast food goes, there is absolutely no beating In-N-Out Burger. If you want to pretend you’re a local, ask for your burger “animal style”. I’ve learned that it’s part of their secret menu, and trust me, it’s delicious. California essentially has everything. You can even drive up to the mountains if you get tired of the beach and want to see some snow.
