If you’re thinking about travelling alone as a female you had better be prepared to listen to an onslaught of unsolicited advice from family members and friends trying to rain on your parade.
“Dress modestly, only go out during the day, be sure you tell people where you’re going, wear a wedding ring, and don’t draw attention to yourself” – if you paid attention to every pearl of wisdom from the nay sayers, you’d be too scared to leave your front door, let alone jump on a plane and go roaming around the world.
While it’s true that travelling on your own, especially as a female, is not an easy thing to do, it is, above all, an empowering experience that will change your life forever. I should know, I’ve backpacked my way around three of the world’s continents solo, and my list is nowhere near complete.
People often ask me how I do it. It can be tough at times; I’m not going to lie. I’ve had a bomb go off in an airport in Madrid just meters from where I’m standing, had my bus flip over on the road down a lofty mountain in Guatemala, been caught up in an earthquake that brought down my house in Costa Rica, and had my plane emergency land in Morocco. But even harder than the heart lurching moments like this are the quiet voids of time, when you arrive after a long plane trip and find yourself wide awake, in your hotel room alone.
These are the moments when homesickness and melancholy slip in, when you pour over Facebook, looking at friends who have had babies or are advancing their careers and wonder why you are watching two cockroaches racing each other up the wall in a foreign land by yourself.
Then I realize that I can do some hobbies on my phone, that leisure that I did back then before I started travelling. Like checking photos of my family, this reminds me of the good memories with them. Browsing the internet when I have a connection, of course I update this blog from time to time. I am also researching wonderful places to travel on my future plans and I heard about Las Vegas, the city of Sin. I heard about their Hotels and it’s one of the best top class hotels in the world. As well as the casino, I am curious about their casino places there and how it looks like. I searched casino games online to try on, that’s how I discovered that I could play Vegas slots 3 line at William Hill online at any hour of the day from my mobile to experience the real Vegas casino. It’s fun and passes the time (and those dreaded small-of-the-night-hours) and you can actually make some money to go towards your travelling costs.
So for as much as I love to experience the smells and sites and tastes of a place in person, Vegas slots 3 line at William Hill online makes me feel like I have a little piece of Las Vegas in my hotel room, whether I’m in Africa, Europe, or South America, and I wouldn’t travel without it.
